  1. Sitting in the Sports bar in Udon Thani waiting for the footy (rugby league) to start.
  2. Pattaya DLT wouldn’t renew my licence on a 30 day exempt visa.
  3. No because it expired in April 2023 and if I waited until after my birthday next month it would have been 12 months since it run out and I would have to do all the videos and written and practical tests again. That already happened once before when I forgot to get a visa before coming over and they would not renew my licence. The following year with the correct visa I had to spend 2 days getting new licences.
  4. Booked a room at 8 hotel in Udon Thani for tonight. I haven’t had drink this trip so will have a few this afternoon watching the rugby league. Booked a room for 2 but not sure the missus will come.
  5. Yes but 5 years from next week when my birthday is. That's why it was important everything went smoothly as the 12 month expiry was up next week.
  6. So arrived in Udon Thani on Monday and got the new car and bike licences today. Monday: Medical certificates (200 baht, 100 baht each), 30 minutes Tuesday: Residence certificates (1000 bbaht, 500 baht each) 30 minutes Wednesday: Driver's licences (760 baht, car 505 baht and motor bike 255 baht) 90 minutes. This would have only taken 30 minutes as well but the licences referenced my old passport and not my new one. I didn't have my old passport or a photo of it so my mum had to go around to my house in Australia and take a photo of the old passport which they then accepted. So what was needed for each licence: Medical certificate, Residence certificate, copy of my passport main page, visa page and the page with entry stamp. Also had to the online DLT training and show a copy of the QR code showing it was completed. Also needed to show them the QR code for the booking appointment time for today.
  7. 2 English breakfasts for the missus and myself at the Brick House.
  8. Home for the next 2 and a half weeks except for a couple of short trips.
  9. So I registered my stay today using the wife’s account. All done but no record or email of confirmation. Has any one done this online and can confirm whether you do get some notice that it has been completed and accepted. I did do another one but when I tried submitting it I got an error saying this was duplicate.
  10. Looks like the missus will have to give me a sponge bath in the toilet cubicle.
  11. Flying from Brisbane to Udon Thani via Singapore and Bangkok next Sunday/Monday. Because of the amount of crap the wife wants to take over we had to book Thai economy plus from Bangkok to Udon Thani for the extra baggage allowance. The ticket says we get access to a lounge. Just wondering if anyone knows if the Thai domestic lounge at Bangkok has a shower as we have a 4 hour wait at the airport and a freshen up would be nice.
  12. Did yo get an email from PA? If so scroll down to the bottom of the email and there should be a link there that takes you to the forum to reset your password.
  13. Mum has just had her second knee replacement so just finished mowing her yard. I would mow her yard all the time but she likes doing it herslf. Had to buy her a battery powered mower as she was struggling to start the old petrol one.
