  1. Yep. Every now and then you can get with a decent human being who knows what the fcuk is going on. During covid it could sometimes take hours/days to get through. Extremely frustrating at times, especially with the 12 hour time difference. I had a months long battle with Verizon in the middle of covid. Getting through on the phone was nearly impossible, but I could sometimes get through on a chat session, which can be good because you can save the transcripts. But first you have to get through the "virtual" help crap before connecting with an actual human being. I did it so many times that I came up with creative kind of fun ways to tell the virtual AI to f**k off. I won't go into all of the details regarding the dispute, but there were pages and pages of the chat transcripts. Months later I went back and reread some of them. They were actually pretty funny. The dispute was never technically resolved, but I fcuked them off. Verizon is one of the most hated companies based on actual formal complaint filings. Horribly managed company. IMO many of their actions are criminal. Read up (if you are ever bored) on the massive fcuking over of many people who used Zelle transfer app connected with many banks (such as Chase). People would use Zelle which was attached with their accounts. Then the transfer would disappear into a hole somewhere. When the customers filed for recourse with the bank the bank would claim they weren't liable. Also, a little light reading regarding Wells Fargo massive criminal fraud habits resulting in multi billion dollar fines. Not just one fraud scheme but several different ones. Jaw dropping.
  2. You are probably right. A lot of devilish little critters over here that can pump out some nastiness. I am thinking about the time @boydestegot nailed by that hornet (or wasp, whatever it was) when he took a sip off a beverage can. Swelled up like a friggen golf ball. I can't remember though if it that was over here or in France. Antihistamines might help. This week my exterminator hit the house again. They do three visits per year. I don't like the chemicals they pump in, but if I didn't do it this place would be invaded. Insects and I don't get along very well. Geekos I don't mind. But they don't have much to eat here. lol
  3. Fcuk me again. That does look good. Nice camera action on that as well.
  4. I'm guessing poison ivy. Centipedes are here also and they can be very nasty. Also possible spider bite. I am super allergic to Poison Ivy and other related plants. It is easy to brush up on it without realizing, or even getting the oils on your clothing and it contacting on other parts of your body. It usually takes a day to set in. The shit is nasty nasty. The contact with the water may have just caused the sensitivity of the skin to arise. Which then made you aware of it. Think back if you were around any plants. Many allergies can arise later on in life that we may not have had when younger. Nothing itches worse than poison ivy.
  5. Man, I love this song. Haven't heard it for years. She is gorgeous jamming on that piano. Just does me in. Carole did this song also....
  6. Peace be with you my brother. O Happy Days !
  7. This was pretty good, for some of us freaks back in the day... Man, Marilyn McCoo had some pipes on her !
  8. No, I am not religious. But this put a smile on my face.
  9. I am not sure. But on the phone app. I just go to transfer. It gives you a menu on banks you can transfer from. You click on the bank of choice, then enter the account number you are transferring to, then enter the amount. Press submit and bingo, the money is there.
  10. Ken Holtzman died at 78. One of the best Southpaws to ever pitch. I saw him pitch at Wrigley in '69. A power pitcher, leftie. Threw two no-hitters in one season which is remarkable. Back then there weren't many lefties around, especially of that caliber. And he ate up a ton of innings, often going into late innings or complete games (very rare now). He was an absolute workhorse, and very difficult to hit. RIP Ken, thanks for being part of great memories. https://theathletic.com/5417483/2024/04/15/ken-holtzman-cubs-as-pitcher-obit/
  11. Some banks policies change. I have two banks that reimburse all ATM fees 100 %. Nice little benefit to have if living or travelling a lot abroad. With SCB they probably discontinued the fee when they switched over to full digital. I never have to worry about what ATM I am using for transfer withdraws.
  12. That is a nice looking set up mate. That pork (is it pork belly ?) looks exceptionally good.
  13. That is one thing that I know you guys really like. But I just can't get a handle on it. Just does not work for me. But I am glad you guys enjoy.
  14. That thing is loaded up pretty good. 430 not real bad. But I have noticed pizza (and many other food items) prices have really shot up over here.
  15. If I develop serious medical condition and I am able to travel I will set up on-line a small month to month residence back in the States (probably Seattle). Once I hit U.S. soil the Medicare will kick in and I will do what I have to do. Recover and decide if I will return back. If not, I will have a few boxes of my few special things already packed up in shipping boxes and left with friends. If I decide to stay back there (in hell) I will just make a few phone calls, have the boxes picked up and shipped back. Now that I have done it once I have the contacts and know how it all works, much easier. The first time was kind of a bitch.
  16. Yes. There are mandates that require certain classifications (in this case your M.D.) to report such things. Different states have different mandates. Example - if a cop or a teacher recognize any signs of possible abuse they are mandated to report it and/or take action. A cops discretion is almost completely restrained in cases of domestic violence. Impaired drivers for many conditions are mandated. Nursing home residents who are even slightly injured (bruised shin or something) have to be reported. Avoiding or failing to comply with the mandate can lead to serious consequences such as suspended license and/or civil liability. These types of mandate actions used to be kind of loose. Now as new reporting systems, info. exchanges, and connected systems advance it is a real mine field. Insurance companies have their fingers on almost everything.
  17. Enjoyed this little adventure story. Those poor massage girls are really hurting now. I know a couple of them and they often ask for money. Sometimes I send them a little bit, sometimes I have to say no (which I hate because I know they are legit and probably hungry). It is so difficult for them to get out of the hole they are in. Relocating takes rent and deposit money, same for retraining for a different job or going to school. Some of them actually have the desire, the intelligence, and in some cases the skills to do something else. But, they don't have the means to break away. They are trapped (especially the older ones). Add on the stigma and discrimination factors... not a good situation to be in.
  18. Oh, on the phone app. Transfers on the apps are easy as pie. Sometimes though the option on an ATM could come in handy. Prompt pay is also very handy, phone top ups, utility bills, etc.
  19. Sounds like a winner. The hot brass must be flying like crazy. The first time I fired a bunch of slugs through a Remington 870 my shoulder took a beating. lol AR, not so bad, but I didn't care for them. I loved that Remi though.
  20. Fcukers are like soi dogs. You never know when one is going to pop up around the next corner. I don't hide, just rejuggle the schedule a bit. It's not as easy to do in Patts. They are almost everywhere, and roving in pickup trucks. No doubt the cops are busy as hell. What we used to say "call to call". From that perspective I learned how chaotic things can really get during major events. Stretched to the max, even with added staffing and OT. Things can easily turn into a mob situation in which there is no control and completely unpredictable. I have been in the middle of a few of them and I can attest.... there are not as many things as frightening as that. My analogy is that to a tornado. It can develop suddenly anywhere and cause complete havoc. Then it disappears as if the clouds move on. But you look around and see massive destruction. Maybe a bit dramatic, but with booze and crowds they are perfect ingredients.
  21. Ahh. More good info. I'm a moron when it comes to QR stuff. But as with the other tech shit I am slowly catching on.
  22. Thanks for that. An interesting option, for sure. So.... even if you just have your BB card you can access your K bank account on a BB ATM ? I wonder if the reverse is the case on a K Bank ATM.... I would venture to guess it maybe is (mutual agreement). This could come in handy. ------ BB needs to update their ATM machines. They are very old and often out of service.
