Ahhh lol I've confused myself: Mrs purchased 2 apple Air tags, one for my Dad's keys and one for her own purse. she has an iphone, I have an android so the apple airtags can only be detected by her phone, but my Android and Galaxy watch will notify when there's an unidentified airtag nearby for any length of time, be it apple or samsung, for personal security I guess.

Yep, but my Mrs has an iphone. I've had to attach an airtag to my Dad's keys as he kept losing them!. Yes, if you want your sleep pattern measured etc. Not uncomfortable, and I usually wear a watch in bed anyway.

tech is incredible. I've just purchased a Galaxy smart watch from Duty free. I can call someone on the other side of the world and talk to them with a watch on my wrist. It measures all my heart rate etc and even tells me the quality of the sleep I had last night. It also tracks and tells me when there's an unidentified Air tag near to me with an alert to my phone, which I find incredible as air tags are apple and my phone's an android. Who knows what it'll be like in 5 years time.

They have 2 sets of "lenses", or appear to be 2 separate cameras on the mobile units attached to a larger pod. The Border Force use them at work all the time, and these were the same type as we have, so I noticed them instantly. They were atop of a minivan as well, which is a give away as all the intelligence stuff is inside along with a back up A/C unit.

Probably put him on an Interpol list, so each and every passport control desk which operates with the 196 Interpol countries will alert the operator to his presence (although any Aircraft / Passenger ship manifest would be pre screened for known names anyway). Depending on how much of a need there is to get him, the relevant resource will be assigned, from either coming across him by pure chance to actively seeking him out. He's probably traveling on a false passport, or maybe even a legit one held by someone who looks like him. Interestingly enough, I spotted Facial recognition Cameras in use on Beach Road during my trip, they were mobile as well.

In other words, LHR wants to remove its contracted workers and swap them for zero hours contracted ones on worse T&C's. They may come under the TUPE agreement, but for how long I'm not sure. Basically it's the owners of LHR, who are foreign, pulling the pants down of British workers. It's wrong, it's unethical but it's also sadly, legal. Sad state of affairs in the UK.

Great post, Even the media glossed over the kindness that the Thai people extended to foreigners during that Tsunami period, also, when the Airport was taken over during the change of Govt (choosing my words carefully due to forum rules) - Many Thai people helped those stranded at the Airport by bringing food, taking care of the children and generally also being helped a lot by the people occupying the Airport at the time who gave ration packs and ensured there was plenty of water to go around. As for good farangs, in Pattaya I think more so in recent years, foreigners look upon other foreigners with suspicion. I got chatting to an Aussie bloke in a bar who told me that for every 10 blokes he meets, at least 3 of them have an angle of some description. I think Pattaya can erode the kindness of people somewhat, but as @Nightcrawler said in his excellent post, Pattaya is somewhat of a bubble. I've seen some bloody horrific behaviour by farangs in pattaya, but on the flipside I've seen acts of kindness that go largely unnoticed, but they never go unappreciated if they're genuine acts of kindness towards a Thai.

I remember it well. They also served very good cocktails in the Malibu Bar. My memory of the place is sitting , watching the show with my Scottish mate Ray (nickname Romeo - he was a male model! )drinking cocktails like a couple of "swells" as he put it. Brilliant days they were.

^^^^^ Good on you for making someone's day and good on them for being honest. Karma works both ways and has done so in this case. Don't give your good lady too much of a hard time, it can happen to all of us when tired and exhausted.Props to you as well for handling an extra 5+ hours to your journey. Sometimes life throws us a curveball and in your case, all has worked out very well for everyone , apart from the poor bugger having to drive!. It could have been so much worse, all things considered.

Good to hear he's still alive and kicking and doing well. Wonderful Bar is at the top of Soi Yamato iirc, Wonderful 2 the next Soi up. My friend in Pattaya worked there for years and was happy to do song or sam pooying with other girls in the bar, so she may or may not be familiar to some BM's LOL. @boydeste I think you're right on the money with the locations. I was in no fit state to give an accurate idea of where anywhere was at that time of night.

😂😂😂 Bloody hell Derek I was thinking the exact same thing!!. One observation that I made recently, well, more of a comparison actually is that in the past the eccentrics were harmless, they'd interact , be happy to chat and were just doing it because they were eccentric and enjoyed bringing happiness to others, like Glitterman. Nowadays maybe it's more of a poor mental health thing. I detected an air of hostility in Pattaya in general this trip, and while I didn't see anyone I'd class as eccentric, the place does have a pretty good track record for sending people mad.

I thought Nice with Ice was upstairs just next door to the Post Office. FWIW Pumpstation is still there, or at least it was 2 weeks ago lol. My memory of Nice with Ice was sitting next to the FLB forum BM Gman while we were both getting blow jobs, and a bloke 2 seats up was reading the newspaper at the same time!. While we're in the area, I spent a couple of evenings in Wonderful bar at the top of the Soi this trip, as my friends cousin works there, as did she back in the day. That's a real blast from the past. I played a few darts and pool matches for them back in 95. At the time I was staying at the Britannia on Soi Yamato, (run by Mickey, the leeds fan and Skinny) next door to the Poteen Still run by Danny Maher (lovely bloke and his wife was also very nice - I also remember his daughter who was just a babe in arms at the time). As it happens Pleasuredome was short of players so I stood in for a couple of weeks. Can you remember the name of the GoGo on that street back then?, 1 unit size. about half way up with the centre stage and seating around it.

This time, a week ago I was sitting in Crystal A GoGo on LK Metro buying lady drinks and generally making an idiot of myself, with one hand on the arse of one girl and one hand on the tit of another. At this moment in time at home, I'm drying off after showering twice and scrubbing my hands clean for the twentieth time because I had to fish a fucking dead rat out of a run off water channel on one of the cranes at work earlier on, and it fell apart as I was doing it (the dead rat, not the crane). I had gloves on, but they weren't decomposing rat proof. The smell was awful. what was even more awful was when bits of it burst all over my arms and leaked into my gloves. If anyone has a time machine they want to hire out...

I totally agree, it's a logical evolution. It'll possibly be a pay per mile using the vehicle telemetry to bill the end user each month, all agreed in the T&C's when you purchase the vehicle or passed as road traffic law. Tampering will be a criminal offence of fraud, as you'll be evading tax. Possibly.

We've all seen them, maybe even met or had a chat with them, but this trip I saw nada, zero, none. (I'm not including the sadder cases of those who've psychosis induced issues due to alcoholic abuse or drug abuse over an extended period of time - these people have hopefully received the care they need). Last year I saw a bloke in Trench Town wearing a kilt, along with fishnet stockings , the following night he was in a multicoloured katftan. Introduced himself as "Steve" and was a great laugh and very nice guy indeed, very articulate and intelligent. This trip though, no one at all. I saw some vloggers (cunts) noteably that "vlogging a dead horse" twat who almost managed to get himself a good hiding from a bloke in Time Bar on LKM, but it was quickly de escalated. I even missed bm @Nightcrawler sporting his safari suit , cravat and cigarette holder. I noticed the pace of things is much faster now. Treetown seems to be very transient in its customer base, guys sit, have a beer then move on. Very little "intimacy" as well - not in the literal sense of the word , but perhaps the open design of the entire place doesn't lend itself to that, the girls don't seem to want to go beyond the normal interrogation routine, it's like they get a drink and then the conversation stalls. Not wanting all BM's to munch on a nostalgia sandwich, but this trip there were a handful of bars where I was made to feel welcome, and numerous bars where I was made to feel like just another faceless farang.

apart from the obvious one, I ran into a few headaches this trip. To begin with, the ATM regardless of which bank kept spitting my card back at me. I called my provider who said there's no "failure" or "rejection" code attached to any cancelled transactions, but my card was being "read" (PIN input), then the option of withdrawal and fee attached, then it would return the card. Tried 5 ATM's different banks, so just gave up in the end. Speaking of Money, Indian guys in polyester T shirts and pot bellies arguing with the TT girl for a better rate. He was changing the equivalent of $50 in rupees. She eventually told him to leave after he and his buddies got aggressive. Crossing 2nd road is still not easy. Bolt MC taxis are still a bit sketchy, and if the Police see you on the back of a Bolt without a helmet, the rider gets fined. I was pulled on Beach Rd, but luckily my bolt rider must have had a connection because one call later we were back en route. Beer Hubb charge 10% service. Not really acceptable. Hemmingways still offers good food and A/C at reasonable prices. I had a mexican chilli burger and it was arguably the best burger I had all trip. Exceptional, good service and well organised. Soi boomerang doesn't really get going until 19:00. Could do with opening earlier. Heavens abive the best of the lot, Once open a varying selection of girls, reasonable drink prices but it gets quite busy from 8pm. Chaiyapoon has some great A/C bars on it, Buzzin lounge is good with nice girls, cold towel on entry, no hassle, High rollers is good, again cold towel but slightly pricey, The Den not good, warm Ac and a worn out pool table, but "Gin" a former Crystal GGG works there and is a lovely little package indeed. Dive Bar still very good, cold towel but some girls don't go with customers. Maggie Mays looking very tired but is busy and offers good priced cold beers. The manager is a bit gruff though. Other headaches include poor service at some Treetown beer bars, Basilisk 13 on the corner for example. Town Bar which sits on bukhao has changed format, removing comfy chairs and dispensing of the god awful singer. Staff not as good as before and seems to be set up more as an observation post for leo drinking expats than anything else. Building work on Soi Honey for some new bars opposite the friendly massage places restricted it a bit, but one was open when I left so only a temporary measure. Lastly, getting a normal Thai massage at aht VIP place near Hungy hippo, I'm offered a BJ on top of the massage for....1500 baht, or HJ for 1000. Now, HJ I can do myself, cheers, but 1500 for a BJ is a bit on the very steep side. I declined and it eventually came down to 1200, which I still declined anyway. Good massage though. 250 baht.

Nice thread bump. I happenstanced upon a girl I knew who worked in Papagayo years ago, when she was a blank canvas , so to speak. She was off duty but sported a full sleeve, breast tattoos and one on her leg. Although they looked to be very well done and professional, I thought it was a shame as she's got a natural beauty that doesn't need enhancing. I like tattoos on a girl, I mean swallows on the hands and ACAB on each knuckle is a bit beyond my taste, but in general I do find them attractive.

I spent a chunk of my holiday at his house, we went around town a few evenings but mostly ended up in Hops on Yamato or Beer Hubb on Beach Road for some food and a few beers, or eating in the evening at his. People have mentioned or asked about his health issues, which have been exaggerated by the jungle drums and even some twat saying he'd died (which I got pretty angry about on PA and probably banned, but hey ho). He spent a couple of weeks in hospital during Covid with an unrelated condition, but since then he has been in fairly good health. He's relaunching the Devil's Den soon, and is seeking people to invest and inject some cash into it, I understand that all the info is on PA.
