I took off at 21.45, no drama. The plane had landed at 19.11 on time.

I'd like to be
Under the sea
In an octopus' garden
In the shade -
I'm surprised a number of hours or cycles can be determined that no airframe has yet reached.

Cooling tower - nuclear or coal power plant. Seems the crane is missing.
I don't see many new build cooling towers these days, but that could change if nuclear makes a big comeback.
No cranes used then, started in 1967 A ring of scaffolding about 50 ft deep around the working area and a hoist to raise workers and cement. Cement tipped into wheelbarrows and moved/poured by labourers. On my site, towers were384 ft high and the main chimney was 650 ft.
All 6 towers have now been demolished, coal fired boiler gone, only gas fired remaining.

Just heard a friend of mine jumped to his death from his 4th floor balcony in Soi Bukhao. His name is Martin Upton, known as Uppy. He normally stays at Sutus court. Martin is from my home town of Swindon and only recently moved to Thailand for good. RIP Uppy!
Sorry for your loss. R.I.P.

know this is jomtien not elsewhere in the country, but seems a good advert to get a 60 day tourist visa to me.
Don't know if France uses the e-visa system but from the UK I think it is easier than extending at Immigration and also cheaper. 1350 bt v 1900.

Just went get our International Driving Permit's for our upcoming trip & the validity is now 3 years whereas it always used to be one.
Still only £5.50....it must be the only thing in the world that hasn't gone up in price for years.
Used to be the 1949 version only valid for 1 year, now 1968 version good for 3 years.

Driving abroad: Check if you need an international driving permit (IDP) - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)

I did read that the Post Office agreement to supply IDPs expires soon, awaiting further information.

Ian Lavender, who played Private Frank Pike in BBC sitcom Dad’s Army, has died aged 77.
Lavender was the last surviving star of the British sitcom following the death of Frank Williams, who played Reverend Timothy Farthing, in 2022.
