  1. I was confused by what the map represented as well. Using Google Image search I see the heading was cropped out of the picture. Another version of the map without the country overlays. https://www.researchgate.net/figure/Koppen-climate-classification-of-Australia-adapted-from-45_fig1_350760601
  2. When I was installing my DIY garden shade canopy I was very aware how dangerous it was working around and over the wall spikes, and that was while I was using a ladder. Even in my most drunken state I would never attempt to climb over the wall. RIP to the guy.
  3. It would appear there's no escaping obnoxious YouTubers, even on a plane. It's one thing to quietly and unobtrusively record one's experience while in their seat, but recording while you're suffling down the isle is bang out of order. My guess there are a fair number of people that tell these guys to point their camera elsewhere with polite and not so polite words, but they get edited out.
  4. That doesn't instill confidence in the skill level at that dental clinic.
  5. Mount Etna puffs giant smoke rings in ‘extraordinary’ phenomenon
  6. From Google Image search... Author: Arcadio Esquivel, Costa Rica.
  7. Back from a shopping run to Home Pro. During the day I use my bicycle for errands around town. Big mistake today as it's just too bloody hot out there to be doing anything remotely resembling exercise. Took a long, cold shower to get my body temp back down to normal.
  8. No Tesco Lotus back then, but I was there when the 7-11 opened.
  9. You're about 40 km west of where I lived when I first moved to Thailand. I lived about seven months in Buntharik. I really enjoyed living there, but left to escape my then GF's greedy, thankless family.
  10. Well that didn't last long. Too bad as it was a great view of Pattaya.
  11. A to B. Transport drops us off at the start point, we then follow hanging paper the hares had previously use to mark the trail. Along the way we occasionally encounter checks and backchecks to solve to once again find true trail. Eventually we make it to end of the trail where a truck with cold beers and food awaits us.
  12. Now recovering from yesterday's hash run. Trail was only 8km in length, but we had to slog our way through overgrown, muddy creek beds at the start, then up and over one of the Khao Mai Kaeo hills. The midday heat was brutal. About halfway up the steep hill I was wishing I had skipped the run. A buddy of mine was thinking the same, but he was doing it while puking his guts out. Fun times. On On 👣
  13. ^^^ Mot daeng, nasty fckers. I make it a point to check the ground before standing too long in one place, and I don't linger under mango trees where they like to make their nests.
  14. Teacher : Use "harassment" in a sentence. Little Johnny: Her mouth said 'no', but her ass meant 'yes'.
  15. I'd be looking for clean underwear if I were on this road during the earthquake.
  16. You do know you're lusting after an AI image, right? https://wasitai.com/
  17. Interesting article on how a 730 ton steel ball protects the tallest building in Taipei. How a steel ball protected Taiwan’s tallest skyscraper in an earthquake Video of the ball doing its thing during an earthquake in 2022. Many buildings have similar type dampening systems, one of which is the Citicorp building in NYC. Looking into that building's system led me to this very interesting, at least to me, article on a design flaw in the Citicorp building that a college student caught. 18. I had the same thoughts as to how they would handle beer purchases. I can't see how a bin system would work; I expect it will be pay as you order.
  19. It is an odd design. Every bar beer distribution point (BDP) offers the same beer at the same price for customers to drink in what looks like a shared common space. The only distinguishing charateristic between each of the cookie cutter BDP's is a cookie cutter sign with a different name above each BDP. If I were an prospective owner, I'd be hard pressed to see the value propistion of buying a BDP in the LV Beer Garden.
  20. Latest word is Nicky's is hoping to move to the new location in June, but since TIT, July is more likely. Pictures of the construction as of this morning.
  21. A good example of what utter exhaustion looks like. Congratulations to Jasmin, the first woman to finish all sections of the Barkley.
  22. I finally had enough of Windows 11 and bought a new laptop which I've downgraded to Windows 10. Moving my apps over to the new laptop has gone smoothly and I'm quite pleased how fast everything is running, and how fast reboots are compared to Win 11. Hopefully Microsoft does better on their next OS version.
