  1. Not sure how much a Rolex Daytona Platinum costs. Why not by a genuine one.
  2. Cheers Steve very much appreciated. Will give them a go.
  3. Thanks for the info……I know Pattaya is a big city, due to Covid have not been for 3.5 years. i am pretty sure plenty has changed in that time. Will be staying in my condo.in the Pratumnak area.
  4. I will be in Pattaya at the end of June for the first time since the Covid rubbish finished, I need a bit of dental treatment. Can somebody recommend a dentist in Pattaya for a patient who at the best of times dislikes going to the dentist. Thank you in advance for any info given.
  5. Just read on the TAT news return of test and go from 1st Feb plus the introduction of Pattaya to the Sandbox scheme. finally some good news, the first signs of tourism returning. Great news for all the bar and hotel/guest house owners.
  6. Won’t be going to Thailand until all nightlife is open. Also will not go until the need to take COVID tests has been stopped. Fully vaccinated that should be enough.
  7. 555........did Air Scotland ever exist or is that a figment of someone’s imagination
  8. Slowly but surely the penny is dropping here in the UK. 1st quarter economy shrinks by 2%. Bearing in mind the lockdown started right at the end of The quarter. The second quarters results are going to be the worst in living memory. Millions of people are currently furloughed and are being paid 80% of salary up to GBP2500, which has extended till the end of Oct. Some people are becoming increasingly comfortable with this seeing it as a long break. Wait till they are asked to return to work, that is if their job is still there. By extending the furlough scheme with no realistic plan of how to return back to normal, struggling businesses will extend the furlough until the last possible moment before closing. Why not let the government pay your salary bill, defer delivering the horrible message of redundancy till the very last moment. With the economy expected to shrink between 15-20% what percentage of the workforce are going to end up redundant? Some companies have already announced job cuts BA, Virgin, and Rolls Royce are just a few, how many more to follow? Kids are not being educated and the unions are flexing their muscles telling teachers not to return to work unless safety is guaranteed. Bearing in mind that the young are the the least likely to be affected by the virus. Thousands of apprentice schemes have been cancelled leaving thousands of teenagers in limbo. There are and will not be any new jobs available any time soon for this generation. On the news this morning. Finally someone had the balls to spell out that we are going to be paying this back for years and years to come. Increasing income tax, VAT, national insurance higher duty on petrol and alcohol. As a country we only just finished paying the debt of for WW2, Gordon Brown sold the gold reserves in 2006. It seems to me ironic that the group of people most vulnerable to this virus (the elderly/retired) are the ones best positioned to emerge from this crisis unscathed financially. Many are mortgage free, drawing on private pensions, good luck to them they deserve it. After all that is the position we all would like to be in come the end of our working lives. Sadly for the young and people with young families they are going to bear the brunt of this for a very long time yet. People can forget about holidays in the sun, weekend breaks away, disposable income will be at a premium. The way I see it is the politicians were too quick to put us in lockdown. There is no credible plan to ease us out of lockdown back to normality. They keep on spouting crap like social distancing, wearing masks not mixing outside of the household. On one hand grandparents cant visit their grandkids or children, they can go out and play tennis or have a game of golf if they want. Private cleaners are now allowed into peoples homes along with estate agents and people who want to view your house. The left hand don’t know what the right hand is doing. The Government has created a complete clusterf**k, they will be dammed if they do and dammed if they don’t. They have dug themselves a massive hole with no idea how to get out. I do believe in order to move this forward and restore our everyday freedoms and return to normality. The government should be focusing on the elderly and vulnerable who are most likely to be affected by the virus, keeping them safe and secure. The lockdown should be revoked immediately travel restrictions lifted and let the virus blow itself out. They should have stuck to the original plan of herd immunity before that twat Ferguson got involved.
  9. So many good war movies.....ice cold in Alex......could just murder a nice cold 🍺 right now
  10. What’s catastrophic is the damage being done to the economy’s of the world. The resulting depression which will follow this will ruin millions of people’s lives for a very long time. Politicians need to think long and hard on what actions they are endorsing. I agree the choices or not easy and don’t sit comfortably with some, but they have to manage/govern that’s the mandate they have been given. However the public’s memory is very short. It’s all well sitting at home being paid 80% salary doing nothing The crunch will be when they are expected to return to work, many will find they have no jobs to return to. A couple of years down the line with the economy still not at 2019 levels and large numbers of people unemployed, politicians will be asking for the public’s votes to return to office. See how quickly the public will turn, you reap what you sow. It took Boris and the Tories years to break the northern red wall gaining a parliamentary majority. If he gets this wrong which I fear he will, it could be a very long time before he gets these seats again
  11. Just reading in order to play golf in Chonburi while the Covid19 crisis is ongoing foreigners will need to show current passport with an entry stamp showing at least 14 days entry before the game of golf. Currently as there are no international arrivals it should not be a problem. The problem will arise as and when international arrivals start up again with people expecting to be able to play golf. If the new ruling is still current i.e 14 day quarantine. If you main purpose is to come and play golf it will not be worth travelling. Suppose it will give you more time to monger if the girls return to work.
  12. F**k that........what a load of shit that is. If that’s the way forward I would rather do without. If you are allowed to meet in public like in the video meet at home. I would rather have a few friends round sit in the garden and enjoy ourselves. What is the f**kin point of that stupid bubble. For any entrepreneurs out there could be good time to set up a greenhouse company.
  13. Wrong......most airlines are now downsizing rapidly, reducing fleet size and headcount by 20+%.. not all airlines have the cash reserves to come out of this. The airframes are being scrapped the workforce won’t be back any time soon. What will happen is after the initial glut of cheap fares to get cash flow moving, airfares will rise and will eventually be much higher than you are paying now. There will fewer flights with airlines operating smaller more fuel efficient aircraft. It will be 2 to 3 years before you see airlines starting to expand again.
  14. Virgin to close London Gatwick and focus on Heathrow and Manchester, also merge Virgin holidays into Virgin Atlantic resulting in over 3000 job loses. Add this to 12000 from BA another 3000 from Ryanair plus 8000 from Rolls Royce. The Virgin announcement is based on finding a buyer by the end of May. If no buyer looks like they could be gone with more additional loses. This is all so tragic for all concerned but has been man made by some extremely poor political decisions. Major policies announced before all facts and figures had been collated. 1 scientists whose figures were so way off the mark has started a Tsunami of economic woe that will cost the country billions.
  15. Just seen on the BBC news a passenger on board an Aer Lingus flight complaining about lack of social distance, the flight was practically full from Belfast to Heathrow. WTF does he expect a special aircraft all to himself on a £40 ticket. If he was that bothered about social distancing then he should stay at home in his bubble as per government instructions. I have had enough of it now. We are committing economic suicide, the repercussions will be felt for a long long time after this episode has finally finished. Our civil liberties and freedoms are being taken away. Being told that the new norm is going to be masks and gloves social distancing for up to 1 year. Also going to start tracking people via Apps on their phone. is this Berlin pre the fall of the wall. We lived in a free society where people can obtain and absorb the information in order to make balanced decisions. Being told to wear masks.gloves and not to go out to visit family and friends or risk being fined . Not only that encouraging the public to let the authorities know about people who they think break the lockdown is dystopian. I will not wear a mask or gloves. The numbers that are coming out of various countries suggest that this is one massive overreaction. Instead of locking down the whole population, plans need to be put in place for a full lifting of the lockdown while looking after people who are in the high risk category. The UK population is over 60 million there are 190000 cases and 29000 deaths. Current worldwide deaths 260000 if all the figures are to be believed. Over 400000 each year die of malaria spread over far fewer countries that have Covid 19. We are not barred from travelling to these countries, we don’t lock these countries down shutting down their economy’s in the process. No people make a balanced decision and travel whether for business or pleasure. (I know malaria is not contagious) Enough is Enough we are not solitary creatures, we need companionship we need to meet family and friends and have social lives. Once your freedoms and liberties are removed they are very difficult to get back. Do we really want the new norm enforcing the population to walk round in gloves masks and 2 meters apart. The long term affects of this don’t bear thinking about. Public transport will become uneconomical 15 people on a bus, 100 people on a 200 seat airplane. Stop being brainwashed look at the facts out there and make some balanced choices. Many people will not agree with my thoughts I accept that. However serious questions need to be asked re the current lockdown. I can’t wait for the time I am able to travel to Thailand and play some golf and have a beer with my mates, I fear it will be a few more months yet though.
