I wonder if their management would be offended by us giving them solid advice and make the place more appealing. It sound like yes we would love to see that place rise from the ashes but don't. What was it someone said...Take care of the customer and the bar will run itself ? For the lights there's a quick cure for that....walk in with sunglasses that's a quick and easy fix...no charge. To the OP, make sure your email such as gmail is fully working before throwing away your old phone. This caused me a lot of issues in the way want to verify a new phone accessing emails. It's safe but a right pain in the backside. Essentially swap everything over, login into everything and only then get rid of the old phone. It too me months to get into an email address which the password was correct, all my details were verified but google would not give me access. Absolute dicks.

To the OP I can relate and started to do what my grand parents did with all the family....name everyone under the sun and then finally remember ah you are.... LOL. I still do that with family. In a working environment it's easier because everyone wears ID cards. Plus those doing zoom calls well their name appears on screen.....saved! However, when it comes to friends I sometimes listen out for names but never point incase I'm wrong 🤣

This is even more stupid for proper sports cars it’s just become ridiculous. There was a time you could pick up a great bargain a few years old and have a lot of fun. Now the demand has gone through the roof and everyone has to end up on a ‘Special list’ to get something you could have brought easily about 2-3 years ago. I can understand the luxury watch market (to a point) but cars….this is getting a but stupid.

Personally I would recommend just going outdoors for a walk in slightly cooler moments in the day. Probably not what you want to hear. My reason for this would be for wellbeing, personally it took a bit of toll on me in the UK doing literally everything indoors and then struggling to get outside was hard to get used to. During my long holidays in Patts I’ve always done the entire length of beach road and back with a bottle of water as a guide to ensure I drank it being hydrated. This is unless with health issues its better on the treadmill for low impact, just my thoughts as I don’t know the full situation in Thailand right now apart from watching some Thai news and working it out.

I’m just catching up on the forum as I’ve not been on in a very long time mostly to try and detox. Edinburgh is a lovely city been there many times. Some parts of it does feel very small for a city but nonetheless a beautiful place to be. Reading through the posts on contactless etc it’s easy to forget I’ve not really carried any cash on me for about 5 years or so. These days I don’t even take a wallet with me as I pay contactless off my mobile phone. There are days I leave my phone at home for a few hours just to go for a walk and use my Apple Watch to pay for any groceries or drinks on the way back home. I can even order an Uber off it (though not tried that in a while). The only time I carry paper money is when I’m in Thailand which has always felt weird in recent years with my 2k baht folded for each LT LOL 😝 I’ve not caught up on the back stop Jambo and had no idea you where heading back to the UK.

I don’t know Kev at all apart from photos I’ve see on the various forums over the years. You guys out there are good friends and clearly he is blessed to have you all around him. A stroke does bring on a lot of confusion as your body very much does a reset and I know this from my own family who have gone through this it recent years. I wish him well.

I am really missing not being out there right now and but great to see you back up and running with the local regulars. Long may it continue to keeping going and other bars too. It just means there’s more to go around for those out there right now.

As sport is followed the majority of people world wide is must always be about doing better personally because it’s all about you putting in the work, training, success and promoting it to the next generation that follows. Bringing all this BS into sport because it has such a huge audience is absolutely wrong and it does p1$$ me off too. To me it’s the lazy way of tackling a debate.

I have been thinking exactly the same...most places I know of are moving to a different contract change saying the office is not the usual place of work and giving employees the choice. I’m might just taking the plunge and live out in Thailand for a year if the opportunity presents itself. There will be one of two outcomes....it works really well....or Pattaya will gain themselves another beach bum 😂

In over 10 years of flying out to Thailand I only made the mistake once of going through an agent...when I wanted to change my ticket I had all sorts of issues even though it was flexible with a small fee. For all the messing around I would rather book with the airline directly and get the best possible service possible. Over the years I’ve been very spot on with my dates for travel so not had major disruption except the volcanic ash issue....now that takes me back! Whenever I’ve got even the cheapest tickets from the airline I’ve weighed up selecting my seat and potential to change vs not. I’ve always gone with the latter because that why I have a peace of mind. But if you are on a tight budget I can see why you’d not want to start adding more costs. Then again if you are on a tight budget...the last place I’d be heading is Pattaya unless of course you are with family etc. Back in 2007 onwards I loved running through the airport and making the short connection as short as possible because I had a big grin on my face knowing when I landed I had someone I wanted to see waiting 😝 but these days I’m torn between having a connecting flight with potential sleep disrupted or travel down to Heathrow and then a 10hr flight. Either way it’s a day of travelling and it all depends how you want to break it up. Ideally you want to travel from your nearest airport and work out what’s best for you in being comfortable in the journey. With the Dubai connecting flight option I’ve flown early morning and late evening trying to work out whichever way I can knock myself out to sleep and wake up with sunny LOS 😂

I’ll never forget the time he took me into Sapphires to show me this one girls ass...WTF...and I tell ya...it was worth going in because this girl I’m sure she squatted in the gym as those cheeks were a sheer delight...I never got to ask him whether he bar fined her before he went over to Koh Chang...I guess I’ll never know unless I drop by and ask the question 😂 and if he didn’t I’d take one for the team and put up a trip report just for him! We live in a simple world made complex by us and when I’m all worked up with shit going on around me...I try and just remember...all I want is a drink with my mates in the hot sunny weather...looking back over the last 10 years I can count on one hand the moments I’d like to go back to and re-live in a heartbeat.
