In about 2010- 2011 I think there were about 5-6-7-8 Indian restaurants in Pattaya .....Plenty for a city of Pattaya's size.....Nothing strange or weird at all..... Then about 2012 or 2013 the Indian restaurant invasion began.. Every week or every month you would see more and more and more and more Indian restaurants opening.....It was insane....By 2019 there had to have been well over 200 Indian restaurants in Pattaya.... And the funny thing is the Thais, Japs, Koreans, and Chineses 100% absolutely never eat at Indian restaurants....And farang don't eat there very often... Still plenty Indian restaurants around even after having had almost zero customers going on 2 years now... My 20 year old daughter was about 3 months old when we went in there but it had already been open for a while I think. Back then it was busy and served excellent food but as soon as Thais took over it became crap.
