From watching his very first videos up country when he was natural, fun and informative......but then he just went to bollocks after Nick Noi and Morph left and when he promoted NWG he stopped being himself.

But to answer your question directly, no, I don't know him personally but have had a beer with him that's all.

Agree 100%

I agree Derek, in the early days he was one of the first vloggers (along with Geoff Carter and Kev in Thailand (RIP) ). I really liked his down to earth, sometimes funny and raw insights to things.

Then it got very commercialised and took a new direction, now I don't blame him for this, but it seems to be hard for vloggers to strike a balance on reporting and quality of the vlogs versus self and business associated promotion once sponsorship enters into the equation.

However, I think that Soi 7 potentially has some life left in it. Any business that brings employment and stimulus to an area is a good thing and Soi 7  needs a new concept / approach desperately if it is to survive in any form. This "top" end of 7 is getting better. There's Shooters opposite, plus a few more bars further down.

Wish him the best of luck and if ever, I'll certainly pop in and spend some baht there.

Don't wish him any harm and don't question your right to spend your cash as you choose....but😁

I wonder how some of his army of fans who were competiting on his live vlogs as to who could ring the bell the most times in the Assienda, or those sending money to the bar feel now?

He seems to making a hard headied commercial decision(fair enough), but would the bar have survived without the support of his loyal following?

Will the same suckers(or Legends are he refers to them 😀) be fighting over who can hand over the most cash second time around?

Reading Buzzin Bar in treetown has closed / changing purpose and branding ( from a Bar /nightclub to a GoGo ) , having a YouTube channel doesn't necessarily guarantee success

Was open tonight but no customers in the place and 3 girls only

One of the first bars I drank at in Patts

Looking at the picture, I'd hope the TV screen rotated with the bar.... knowing my luck all the action would happen when I was behind the TV...

Many Many years ago (97ish?) I took a girl to the rotating restaurant at the top of the tower in Pattaya Park.

At the time it was a buffet at the centre. We got up together to choose our scoff but when I sat down to tell her what I was going to do to her later that night I looked up to see a group of shocked faces!!!

The seating had slowly rotated and my girl was a few tables away laughing at me !!!

Should of gone to spec saver’s 👓😄

Just an observation but....is it just my imagination at looking at this thread the last couple of years now, that many of the bar owners, whether they were/are the previous owners or are new owners, have made re-modeling and upgrading the overall look of these places a priority?

Some of these places that I have been to ( like alot of you) really have taken a step forward?

Please thank the well dressed man ....... I walked past this two weeks ago and it looked like a rusty disused crock of shite ...

Is he using filters or just happy now that Newcastle are doing well.

I know you're more of a Henley Regatta, Cowes Week man but try asking him.

Unless his phone has set a filter that he doesn't know about or understand, he's purely a point and shoot chap.

As for Newcastle,  he says he's sleeping better at last!

Friend of mine from Canada just returned home after a 10 week stay. He whatsapped me just last weekend about the Buzzin' Bar, as he and a friend were in Tree Town and walking around looking for a spot to have a beer and check out the scene. Told me they walked inside his bar and saw exactly 1 bartender, 3 girls and 0 customers.

I subscribe to his channel and while I don't watch every new video he puts out, with the occasional exception like his 2 part interview with BJ, it's just become repetitive drivel, always the same sois, beer bars, motorbike ride alongs, etc. Every restaurant serves great food and is owned by a great guy. And the constant narration rather than simply allowing the scenery to speak for itself. I would think he might turn off quite a few folks as much as he might gain new subscribers.

Not that any of this might contribute to his bar's lack of business, but as you mention, having a YT channel doesn't automatically make a bar successful.

Lets hope with the new entry requirements being scaled way back, that will now trigger the crowds of punters that his bar would rely on to begin to show up and give his place a look.

Seems like he is always walking back and forth on Soi Bucky.   Geeezus I've already done that a few dozen times.
