Make sure you take an extra $3,000 if you're going to Cambodia

Seems reasonable to me , if you are virus free then will only cost $165

And at least a day. And even if you are virus free but another passenger on the same plane isn't, it will cost you more, both in money and in (sparse) holiday days. Scratch Cambodia from the list for me.

The whole plane has to be virus free for you to escape for that money mate.

When I read these threads I am just thankful I have no plans to travel to Thailand and surrounding countries for the foreseeable future.

I am also thankful I now live in the UK and my outlook for holidays and travels (even if I was single) would not be considering SE Asia at all.  So many other countries now on my 'to do' list that stir my interest ahead of Thailand, Cambodia or similar although I know Porn may be wishing to see her family at some point. My interests in holidays would be better served at home or near Europe well before I ever think/plan to go to SE Asia again.

Appreciate this is a Thailand forum and will note that it is where most want to get to or at least to that area.

I wouldn't mind a week or two at a nice Siem Reap hotel right about now.
Swimming, good food, hot weather, massages, a little temple hopping...

If you pass the COVID-19 test & get your deposit back...no worries.

Hmm.....but what if this new proposal gained traction in neighboring countries, like LOS? Then what?

I would take my chances on myself passing a health test but not 200-300 other passengers.

Only takes one to screw up your holiday.

The solution is a Learjet with yourself as single flying pilot (and no passengers or cabin crew).

Tommy don't tell them about the new jet your putting up for exclusive moderators use ( I still think the waitresses / hostess's should be In g strings to leave some thing to the imagination unless they are in the spa pool)

That's disappointing.

I had hoped with such few infections that Cambodia would be desperate to welcome tourists back.

Obviously not.

Me too, but it looks like they have seen a business opportunity.

Only I don't like the odds.

It's absolutely ripe for exploiting.

'sorry mister have somebody on flight have Covid-19, you must pay 3000 dollars, if you don't want pay you will go to jail, or maybe you can give me 1500 dollars and everything OK'.
