As a bike rider I really wish they'd stop installing storm grates with the openings parallel to the direction of travel. It's very easy for a small width tire to get caught up in one of the openings, stop you dead in your tracks and pitch you over the handlebars.

Worst ones are on Khao Noi. They cover the entire width of the road. I didn't see it happen, but a couple of years ago I came across a guy laying in the middle of the road next to his bike. It was obvious he didn't spot the hazard in time, tire got caught in the grate and pitched him and his bike into cross traffic. Luckily no cars hit him. He was a bit dazed but soon recovered. He had to call a friend to pick him up as his front tire was a twisted wreck from the encounter.

Just a tremendous effort Blue Streak with the pics around town. Very much appreciated. While sad to see so many vacant buildings and closed up bars, those sunset shots of the sun sinking over the condo buildings or into the gulf, are simply stunning. That orange red fireball contrasting with the sky, water and shadow is a feast for the eyes.

Thank you again for taking the time.

I remember the ones like this on Suk.

Hit a badly bent one on the scooter and you could end up doing a very rapid lane change.

That's a great shot. I'm guessing you did some post processing to bring out the stars in the night sky. Well done.

Yes - you are correct, sir.  I am still stuck in UK until at least mid to late May.  Mrs JL is in Pattaya to check all is well at the condo and these are here pictures taken on iPhone 11.

I had meant to post Pattaya photos but got sidetracked here... never took the train to Pattaya from Bangkok...mostly taxi or the bus from Ekamai...had a place in Bangkok & Pattaya for a time. Used to go back and forth for variety (2010-12). A few shots to jog the memory of 'old' Pattaya...
