Perfecting my Thai Spice dance moves at the Ark bar, Chaweng, Koh Samui.

So far have only been pelted with one pair of Bridget Jones size pants, give it time, I am just warming up.20181209_181747.thumb.jpg.ab44869d90f0f6d2056a9431ca2f96d6.jpg

Looks nice, might give it a go if you think it good for a young child.

Heading to Argos, my daughter just decided her tablet needed a bath 😲

So a new one i'm away to get ...

Blimey my one is lucky to get a viewing of my mobile phone on occasions. No tablet till she is about 14 although no doubt school will introduce her to many media platforms before that.

I used to have the same principles, but probably impossible in the future.  Likely they will do their homework, school exams etc on a tablet.

Considering the quantity of stuff being now done on a smart phone or tablet, I see little future for the traditionnal blackboard.

It is frigthening how much we are dependant on the net and its terminals (phones tablets...) for daily life.

Worst is the time spend on stupid games or updating every 30m ones F.B. ...

I have probably been on my lap top and phone more than usual but the weather in Koh Samui has not been kind to those of us wanting to be outside.

I read to my little one every night although she does get on Porn's mobile more occasionally than I like when not much else to do.   I did bring some books to read to her and thankfully she likes to play outside and have me read to her.

I won't be buying her her own phone or tablet though.

Nursery rhymes.

They're educational as well, counting, alphabet, brushing her teeth, alsorts.

Loads of apps for kids.

You're better off buying her a poncho 555.

Still fancy going to see Phil in a bit? He did say he'd be going for a meal with his family today I think.

I would prefer them to learn the old fashioned way.

Even if just to avoid they start considering all those smart apps as the center of the world.  And end up with all their world gravitating around it.

Read books, use a paper map, etc....

IMO all those smart things must just be aids to make things easier when one is lazy. But one should be able to continue to live without it.

I had a similar discussion with my son concerning all the electronic aids and gadgets they now use in the army. FFS, cant find the way back to base chief, my GPS ran out of battery....

They can do both.

My daughter is in library every other day, getting books for her daddy to read to her every night, which she loves. She's out playing and socializing every day at toddler groups.

It's her mummy's tablet she dropped, she doesn't have one, though is allowed to use it the odd time for educational nursery rhymes.

Doesn't have to be one or the other, can do and benefit from both, a balance in the modern world.

Anyway, each to their own ...

Agreed mate, there need to be a balance between both worlds. There is no way to reject the digital one, as it will be more and more present in our life, so the youngsters better learn to master it.

But their world should not gravitate only around that.

Sorry I didn't make myself clear enough.
